Digital Collections
The Library subscribes to multiple academic resources to support research and learning. These include enhanced research databases as well as substantial ebook and journal collections.
Find a Resource
The Library website, library.olin.edu, is the hub for links to subscription scholarly and research resources (as well as up-to-date info on the Library). Resources are kept in two main locations on the website:
-
The A-Z Database List shows all subscribed resources (and a curated selection of free resources)
-
Olin Scholar (the search box on the homepage of library.olin.edu). Olin Scholar is a tool (from the company EBSCO) called a “discovery layer.” Olin Scholar searches across all resources in the A-Z list in one go. Note: results will NOT include anything from our physical collection.
The Catalog is Separate!
The Library catalog, olin.minlib.net, is a separate website and system from Olin Scholar. In other words, Olin Scholar will not show any results for physical items or Libby ebooks.
On/Off-Campus Access
On Campus: our subscription resources allow access to any user connected to Olin’s secure WiFi network. If you are connected to Olin WiFi and cannot access something, please tell us!
Off-campus: connect with either of the following simple methods: use the Olin VPN (see IT help pages), or connect to your resource using the link from the A-Z list at library.olin.edu. All links in that list are configured to grant access.
Digital Resource Policy Summary
Privacy protection: The Library protects privacy of digital resource usage as required under FERPA and recommended by the American Library Association. Usage records are kept to the minimum needed for library workflows.

Mid-year policy updates: Current policies and Library updates are posted at library.olin.edu. Contact us any time with policy questions or clarification requests.
