Creation & Art Spaces

The Library provides hands-on spaces and equipment for creative projects, prototyping, and learning new skills. All major equipment requires one-time training regardless of your experience level.

Section Overview

  • Using equipment without required training violates Library policy and Honor Code.
  • Training signups are announced by week 4 each semester via email and posted on library.olin.edu.
  • Training required for major powered equipment and the screen printer.

Equipment and supplies policies and use:

  • Educational and personal projects always welcome. Use supplies and equipment thoughtfully. Do not use the Library to supply personal businesses.

Spaces & Gear:

  • Workroom: Screen printing, vinyl cutting, etching press, art supplies (no oil paints, aerosols, harsh chemicals, etc.)
  • Sewing Area: sewing machines, serger, hand sewing tools, fabric
  • Sound Studio: Professional audio recording (reservation required via Outlook)
  • Library of Things: Cameras, audio equipment, lighting gear

Getting started: Join the Library Discord server (on the Olin Student Discord hub) or email library@olin.edu to ask questions and share your creations.
