Need–Based Aid Process
Need-Based Financial Aid at Olin
Olin College offers need-based financial assistance through a combination of federal, state, and institutional aid programs. Financial aid is available to U.S. Citizens and Eligible Non-Citizens who meet eligibility requirements established by the U.S. Department of Education. International students and non-citizens are generally eligible only for merit-based aid, such as the Olin Tuition Scholarship.
To apply for financial aid, families must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Olin’s federal school code is 039463. Please allow adequate time for processing through the Department of Education. For current deadlines and policies, consult the Affording Olin section of our website.
If additional documentation such as proof of citizenship, verification, or other required items are required due to a flag from the U.S. Department of Education, these materials must be submitted before an official award letter can be issued.
Olin is committed to meeting full demonstrated financial need for up to eight semesters of required full-time study, provided the student applies by the deadline and qualifies for additional assistance.
Disbursement & Refunds
Financial aid is disbursed directly to each student’s account at the beginning of the semester for which it applies. All eligibility criteria must be met prior to disbursement.
If the total amount of aid exceeds a student’s billed charges, the Student Accounts Office will issue a refund for the remaining credit to the student or parent.
For questions regarding billing or refunds, please contact Student Accounts to studentaccounts@olin.edu or 781-292-2429.
