ENGR3210 Sustainable Design
This course provides a comprehensive introduction to sustainable design. We start with ecological system design addressing environmental impact through a team project on product-service system design. Here we are focused on life cycle analysis, dematerialization, circularity, and other ecodesign strategies. We continue with social system design addressing human and environmental well-being and justice through an individual project on generative organizational design. Here we are focused on value flow analysis, generative principles, solidarity economy, and other organizational design strategies. Students acquire an extensive set of skills involving sustainable design principles, tools, and techniques that can be applied in the real world and often lead to sustainability jobs for alums.
